Our Story

Valley Springs is a non-denominational church in Corvallis, OR. Valley Springs Church is a multi-ethnic church made of students and professionals, married and single, children and babies. Our services will be casual with great music, relevant teaching from the Bible, and an engaging Kids’ Program where your kids will learn about Jesus. Whether you’re new to church in general or have been a Christian for a while, we think you’ll like it here!

The Beginning

Valley Springs began public services in the Fall of 2015 with a team of 24 people sent from Vine Church in Southern Illinois. Planting healthy churches has been in the vision and prayer of the overseers at Vine for many years.

Our hope is to be a local church that is a means for people to learn about Jesus in a way that deeply impacts them and affects the way they live. At Valley Springs, we are centered on following Jesus and hold to the clear truths of the bible that help us follow him. Our vision is to be a healthy local church that makes disciples and plants healthy churches throughout the Northwest and beyond.

Why are we called Valley Springs? In the Fall of 2014 as the church plant was being announced, our pastor Mike Luczkiw was praying for understanding as to what the church should be called, and came across the verses in Psalm 84:5-6, "How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of hosts! My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God. Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Blessed are those whose strength is in you, in whose heart are the highways to Zion. As they go through the Valley of Baca they make it a place of springs;" We believe that in a place where gloominess prevails for much of the year, God will make it a dwelling place rooted with joy and life for many, and that Valley Springs will be a means for people seeking God to find him.

The word vista means “a pleasing view,” and often implies needing to fix our eyes on it in the distance. In this life, there is nothing more necessary or wonderful than looking to Jesus in all matters of belief and practice. It is our hope that, as a church, we would do this with great passion!
